The Duchess of Cambridge, who is pregnant with her second child with husband Prince William, will also miss the athletics event of the games on Thursday.

Her brother-in-law, Prince Harry, has been working on the Invictus Games, an athletic competition for wounded servicemen and women from around the globe. Harry brought the idea for the games back to London after taking part in the U.S. version — called the Warrior Games — in Colorado back in 2013.

The Palace announced earlier this week that Middleton is pregnant again and is suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum, a rare but severe form of morning sickness. Middleton had the same illness when she was pregnant with her son Prince George, who was born in July 2013.

The duchess is not yet 12 weeks into her second pregnancy, royal officials told ABC News, and doctors are treating her at Kensington Palace. They said she “may require supplementary hydration, medication and nutrients.”

Middleton’s upcoming trip to Malta is also under review, the Palace said.
