Stock Market Climbs After Two Days of Losses

The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed up almost 55 points, ending the day at 17,068.71. The Nasdaq gained over 34 points, closing at 4,586.52, while the S&P 500 added 7.25 points, closing at 1,995.69.

Apple’s stock rose almost 3% on Wednesday, just one day after the company introduced a smartwatch, a bigger iPhone, and a brand-new mobile-payment system.

A security breach at Home Depot may have affected 60 million shoppers and may result in more than $2 billion of fraudulent charges.

On Wednesday the Atlantic City Convention Center was transformed into a resource center for the thousands of laid-off workers following the closing of two casinos over the Labor Day weekend. The resource center aims to help people file for unemployment and find new work.
