Blackfoot Standoff Ends Peacefully

(BLACKFOOT, ID) – A 14-hour standoff in Blackfoot ended peacefully Thursday night. Officials say a man barricaded himself in the Blackbird Seven Fruit and Vegetable building across from Rupe’s Burgers.
The standoff began at around 3 a.m. A SWAT team eventually rammed the door of the building and the suspect surrendered at around 5 p.m.
The suspect, who police identified as Scott Phillips, had warrants out of Bingham and Bonneville counties. Additional criminal charges are pending a full investigation.
