Crumbs to Reopen Shops in New York, Other Major Cities

Bilgin Sasmaz/Anadolu Agency/Getty Images(NEW YORK) — Crumbs Bake Shop’s Broadway location is expected to reopen in New York City on Tuesday, with more openings anticipated within the next month.
According to the New York Daily News, Crumbs stores will reopen in Boston and Los Angeles in the next 30 days. The chain had closed all of its 48 locations in July, but was later purchased out of bankruptcy by Fischer Enterprises, the same company that owns Dippin’ Dots.
The stores will be more diversified, with cupcakes representing about 50 percent of the menu. Another 10 percent, the Daily News says, will be dedicated to products that fit their particular market, such as challah bread, a Jewish specialty, in New York stores on Fridays.
The new Crumbs stores will also launch a new product called the baissant — a cross between a bagel and a croissant.
