Montana Considering Fate of Yellowstone Bison
Published at | Updated at(WEST YELLOWSTONE, MT) – Montana wildlife officials will meet Thursday to discuss the future of nearly 150 bison that wandered out of Yellowstone National Park.
About 70 animals are expected to go to the Fort Peck Indian Reservation in the northeast part of the state, while another 35 will go to the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma. Another 10 will go to zoos in New York, while the remaining 30 will likely be sent to the Utah Division of Wildlife.
Screeners say the animals are under quarantine and remain disease free.
