(POCATELLO, ID) – Pocatello Police say they never fired shots at a man who led them on a high speed pursuit Saturday night. Authorities tell KPVI that 46-year-old Bryan Seward fired multiple shots during the pursuit, none of which resulted in any injuries.

A department spokesperson says it’s against policy to fire on a moving vehicle unless extraordinary circumstances warrant it.

Seward shot himself near the end of the chase, then crashed his vehicle into a trailer home. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives say they’re still collecting evidence in the case. The woman living in the damaged home was not inside at the time, however she does not have insurance to cover the repairs needed.
