Pollard suffered the injury with just 1:09 left in the game when Cleveland Browns quarterback Brian Hoyer threw what would wind up being the game-deciding play.

“Bernard has been a good leader and a good player for us,” Titans head coach Ken Whisenhunt said. “That happens in this game. It’s unfortunate. We’ll certainly hope he stays involved with our team, which I think is an important piece of it. But I know how disappointed he was [Sunday] night, as we all are.”

The 29-year-old Pollard is in his ninth NFL season, and second with the Titans. He led the team in tackles last season with 99, and signed a multi-year deal with the team during the offseason.

This will be the first time Pollard has been placed on injured reserve during his career.

The Titans have the 26th overall rated defense in the NFL this season.
