US Conducts Six More Airstrikes on ISIS Targets Near Kobani

iStock/Thinkstock(KOBANI, Syria) — The U.S, conducted six more airstrikes on ISIS targets around the embattled city of Kobani on Friday and Saturday, as Kurdish forces continue to fight off the terrorist group’s surge.
The U.S. used bomber and fighter aircraft for the weekend’s strikes and also teamed with partner nation military forces to conduct three airstrikes against ISIS in Iraq.
Four attacks north of Kobani struck the groups’ fighting position, damaged a command and control facility, destroyed an ISIS staging building, and struck two small units. Two airstrikes south of the area destroyed three trucks.
In addition to the strikes, the U.S. conducted multiple airdrops to support Iraqi forces near Bayji. A total of 36 container delivery system bundles with more than 7,000 halal meals, 2,065 gallons of water, and 16,000 pounds of ammunition were unloaded.
