Although it’s not quite that simple, the Australian job finding agency The Job Factory says it found that companies are more likely to give pay bumps to workers who love taking selfies compared to those who prefer a much lower profile.

Job Factory executive Craig Binnie says employers “look for go-getters who display confidence, drive and ambition” and they believe that selfie fanatics exude a lot of self-confidence.

In a small survey of approximately 300 workers from the U.S., Australia, the United Kingdom and Singapore, people who posted 20 selfies a month, or the equivalent of one a work day, received pay raises that averaged 3.7 percent. Workers who took fewer selfies or not at all averaged a 2.4 percent pay raise.

Be sure to remind someone of that the next time you get grief for taking a selfie.
