Walker/Getty Images(HIGH POINT, N.C.) — High Point University in High Point, North Carolina, has removed Bill Cosby’s name from its board of advisor, in the wake of sex abuse claims made by multiple accusers against the comedian.

A statement released by the university obtained by the High Point Enterprise reads, “In the best interest of all parties, we are removing his name from our board of advisors until all information on this matter is available.”

Cosby, who spoke at the school’s 2007 graduation ceremony, was appointed to the board over the summer.

Meanwhile, a spokesman for Cosby’s alma mater, Temple University, says he remains a trustee of the Philadelphia-based institution, according to The Temple News.

Cosby — who has never faced criminal charges in connection with any of the allegations — performed at a benefit for a women’s service organization in the Bahamas on Thursday. He did not reference the growing controversy swirling around him.

Cosby has more than 30 stand-up comedy performances scheduled in North America through early May. An Arizona casino has cancelled an appearance scheduled for Feb. 15, according to TucsonNewsNow.com, though an official reason was not given.
