Alabama confused and stymied Dak Prescott all game as they contained the dual threat quarterback and forced him into costly mistakes.

Prescott threw three interceptions on the day, none more costly than a pick thrown late in the third quarter.  The Bulldogs had marched down to the Alabama 15 yard line, trailing by 13. Prescott forced a pass to his left and Crimson Tide corner Cyrus Jones was waiting on the pass: stealing possession of the ball.

Alabama’s offense was methodical. The Tide ran for 124 yards and threw for 211 yards; 88 of which were caught by star wide receiver Amari Cooper. He also added a touchdown reception.  T.J. Yeldon ground out 72 yards on 16 carries and punched in a touchdown.

The loss certainly comes at a bad time for Mississippi State as the college football regular season winds down and four teams will be selected for college football’s inaugural playoff. The win will boost Alabama’s chances of contending once again for the grand prize of collegiate football.
