The “donate feature” will nest at the top of the Facebook screen on mobile phones and offer users the options to learn more about the organizations and the disease or to donate directly from the Facebook app. Among the organizations that have teamed up with Facebook are the International Medical Corps, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and Save the Children.

According to a press release, Facebook will also work with UNICEF to deliver information about Ebola symptoms and treatment to users in areas impacted by Ebola. Those messages would appear in users’ News Feed in their local language.

The company will also donate 100 mobile satellite communication terminals for deployment in West Africa that will allow for voice and data services for medical and aid workers — in an effort to provide communications capacity in areas where little to none exist.

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg posted a video on Wednesday announcing the company’s efforts to help combat Ebola.
