“Fifty Shades of Grey” Trailer Debuts During “Scandal”

Focus Features/Universal Pictures(NEW YORK) — Gladiators — that is, fans of ABC’s Scandal — got an extra eyeful during the show Thursday night, as the full-length trailer to the eagerly anticipated adaptation Fifty Shades of Grey made its debut during the drama.
Set to Beyonce’s “Haunted,” the coming attraction only hints at the sexy content that made the E.L. James book a bestseller and the first in a hit trilogy. The snippet centers on the budding — and eventually passionate — relationship between billionaire Christian Grey, played by Jamie Dornan, and Dakota Johnson’s Anastasia Steele, the young woman whose eyes are opened thanks to Grey’s penchant for sexual bondage and dominance.
“My tastes are very singular,” Grey says. “You wouldn’t understand.”
“Enlighten me then,” Steele says, before Grey opens the locked door to his sex toy-filled “playroom.”
The Sam Taylor-Johnson-directed film also stars Jennifer Ehle, Rita Ora and Oscar winner Marcia Gay Harden.
It will hit theaters on Feb. 13, 2015 — just in time for Valentine’s Day.
