Culkin’s band, The Pizza Underground, tweeted several pictures of the 34-year-old, including a shot of him holding up a soda captioned, “We’re on tour you silly people.” Another featured Culkin in a group shot with the band.

Macaulay even made fun of the hoax by recreating the 1989 comedy Weekend at Bernie’s, in which a couple of guys pretend that their dead boss Bernie is still alive.

The picture, shows Culkin playing dead in the arms of one of his bandmates, along with the caption, “Weekend at bernies with @anchovywarhol #greenroom.”

The group also retweeted a post from a fan who attended their show at the Fun Fun Fun Fest in Austin, Texas, and wrote, “Macauley’s first words: “I’m alive!” #pizzaunderground #FFFfest.”
