The Cardinal were led by senior quarterback Kevin Hogan who put forth a splendid effort, completing 16 of 19 passes for 234 yards and two touchdowns.

“We wanted to finish the season strong and show that we had fight in us,” Hogan said. “It’s tough for all the seniors to go out with a season like this.”

The Cardinal (7-5) didn’t have nearly as much on the line as the Bruins (9-3) did. Stanford not only crippled any chance UCLA had of making the playoffs for the college football championship, it took away the Pac-12 South title and gave the rights to the Arizona Wildcats.

“We had higher expectations than that,” said UCLA quarterback Brett Hundley. “To put a performance together like that, it’s shocking.”
