Tannehill, who was playing behind an offensive line that was missing left tackle Branden Albert, completed 26 of 34 passes for 240 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions to lead the Dolphins to a crucial 22-9 win over the Buffalo Bills Thursday night.

The win puts Miami (6-4) in sole possession of second place in the AFC East and evens their season’s series with Buffalo at a game apiece.

It was a game of field goals in the first half. Dan Carpenter’s second field goal, with 3:26 remaining in the second quarter, gave Buffalo a 6-3 lead which it took into halftime.

After Carpenter hit a field goal to put the Bills up six in the third quarter, the Dolphins scored 19 unanswered points, 12 of them coming off Tannehill touchdown passes to win the game.

Lamar Miller had 15 carries for 86 yards in the win.

While the Bills’ pass rush couldn’t force Tannehill to throw a pick, they did come up with five sacks, 3.5 of those coming thanks to Mario Williams.

The Bills (5-5) will look to get back on track next week when they host the New York Jets. Meanwhile, the Dolphins will be in Denver to take on the Broncos in Week 12.
