Thousands of Glowing Balloons Commemorate Fall of Berlin Wall
Published at(BERLIN) — Thousands of glowing balloons have taken over Berlin this weekend as Germany marks 25 years since the fall of the Berlin wall.
Called “Lichtgrenze 2014” — German for “Light Border,” the piece is made up of 8,000 individual glowing balloons that snake through Germany’s capital.
The nine-mile chain of balloons follows the border that separated East and West Berlin.
The balloons will be released Sunday to signal the anniversary of the end of the country’s 28-year division.
