TV Land Pulls “Cosby Show” Reruns in Wake of Cosby Sex Abuse Claims
Published at(NEW YORK) — The fallout from the sex abuse claims made against Bill Cosby continues.
TV Land has decided to stop airing reruns of the his 1984-1992 sitcom, The Cosby Show, ABC News confirmed Wednesday.
The news came just hours after NBC announced its comedy project involving the 77-year-old Cosby “is no longer under development.” On Tuesday, Netflix said it has postponed the launch of a new Cosby standup comedy special.
Multiple women have accused Cosby of sexual abuse, including supermodel Janice Dickinson, who told Entertainment Tonight this week that Cosby assaulted her in 1982. A lawyer for Cosby says Dickinson’s story conflicts with her prior statements and is an outrageous lie.
Cosby has never faced criminal charges in connection with any of the allegations.
Currently, Cosby has more than 35 stand-up comedy performances scheduled in North America through early May. He’s set to appear in Melbourne, Florida, this Friday.
