Vikings Defeat Redskins 29-26 in Griffin’s Return
Published at(MINNEAPOLIS, MN) — Sunday marked the return of Robert Griffin III as quarterback of the Washington Redskins.
The Vikings were not impressed, as they beat up the Redskins 29-26 at home.
Rookie Teddy Bridgewater continues to improve as he led four scoring drives, three of which were capped by Matt Asiata touchdown runs. Bridgewater finished the day 26-42 for 268 yards and one touchdown pass.
Griffin had a good day, but it wasn’t good enough. He was 18-28 for 251 yards and one touchdown, but was also sacked five times and threw an inteception. There were good signs, though, for the former second overall pick, who had missed the last six weeks with a dislocated ankle.
The Vikings now move to 4-5 as they continue to play hard for rookie head coach Mike Zimmer. The loss sends the Redskins to 3-6.
