Sunday, the Texans defeated the Cleveland Browns 23-7 and J.J. Watt scored his fourth touchdown of the season.

Ryan Mallet was making his debut as Houston’s starting quarterback, and on his first drive led the Texans down to the Browns two yard line.  J.J. Watt entered the game as a tight end, and Mallet found Watt open in the endzone.

So far this season, Watt has two receiving touchdowns, one interception return and a fumble return for touchdown.  He is now part of an exclusive list of defensive ends to score four touchdowns in a season joining Zach Lilly and Ray Poole, both of whom achieved the feat in 1948.

In addition to his scoring prowess, Watt has 8.5 sacks on the season, one interception, seven passes defended, and three fumble recoveries.

Watt signed a $100 million dollar contract extension with Houston in the offseason. In the press conference announcing the signing, Watt stated, “I’m going to give everything I have to prove I earned this.”

Mallet was efficient in his debut, completing 20 of 30 passes for 211 yards, with two touchdowns and one interception.

With the win, the Texans are now 5-5 and back in the playoff race.
