Black Monday, however, may be a merciless day at One Jets Drive, as owner Woody Johnson may clean house of the football operations department — notably Head Coach Rex Ryan and General Manager John Idzik.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Jets will hire Charley Casserly to be a, “consultant in the event [Woody Johnson] decides to make major changes.”

“I know one thing for sure: Woody is going to do what he thinks is going to help this organization win. Whether it’s Charley Casserly or whoever, that’s what he’ll do,” Ryan said when asked about the potential hiring of Casserly.

Casserly, 66, was formerly the general manager of the Washington Redskins.  He oversaw the drafting of notable players including Brian Mitchell, Stephen Davis, Champ Bailey, Mark Schlereth, and Frank Wycheck.
