Gas Prices Continue Downward Trend, Down 15 Cents This Week
Published at | Updated at(NEW YORK) — Gas prices continue to decline, the U.S. Energy Information Administration report showed Monday, with the national average cost of a gallon of gas down another 15 cents.
Around the U.S. the average price for a gallon is just $2.40, a figure nearly 87 cents lower than this time last year.
The cheapest gas is once again found along the Gulf Coast, where a gallon costs $2.18 on average, while on the West Coast that average jumps to $2.70.
Of the nine states measured by the EIA’s weekly reports, Ohio has the cheapest gas at $2.14 per gallon, while New York remains the most expensive, at $2.85.
