George Clooney to Make Guest Appearance on “Downton Abbey” Christmas Special

ABC/Randy Holmes(NEW YORK) — Kim Kardashian’s recent nude photo didn’t quite break the Internet as planned, but this might do it — at least, if you’re a Downton Abbey fan. George Clooney will make a guest appearance on the hit British period drama for a charity Christmas special.
In a video tease posted online, Elizabeth McGovern’s Lady Cora is seen approaching a man at a party and calling him “darling.” But when he turns to face her, it’s not her husband, Lord Grantham — played by Hugh Bonneville — but rather Clooney himself, clad in a dapper gray suit.
Clooney’s character, whomever it is, also reportedly will plant a kiss on the elderly Dowager Countess, played by Maggie Smith.
The special Downton Abbey episode, which will benefit British TV network ITV’s “Text Santa” charity campaign, will air in the U.K. Dec. 19.
