Liquor Not the Popular Holiday Gift Many Late Shoppers Think

poplasen/iStock/Thinkstock(NEW YORK) — Many Americans, doing belated holiday shopping, think alcohol is the perfect last-minute holiday gift, but they may want to think again.
Consumer Reports says that one-quarter of Americans say that hard liquor is actually the gift they would like least this holiday season. Comparatively, wine is an acceptably gift, with just six percent of Americans calling that the gift they’d want least.
Plenty of Americans fall into that category of late-shoppers, however, as Consumer Reports says about 30 percent of shoppers have yet to do any gift shopping through early December.
