The article has come under criticism after the magazine issued a statement distancing itself from the story, citing “new information” and “discrepancies” in the account of the incident. Since then, the magazine has been undertaking an internal review.

In addition to that review, an additional review will be conducted by Columbia Journalism School, led by Dean Steve Coll and Dean of Academic Affairs Sheila Coronel.

Rolling Stone says that the Columbia review will look at “the editorial process that led to the publication of this story.” The magazine also says it will publish Columbia’s report upon its completion.

Since the article came out, the school has held a number of meetings, and announced last week that it would implement a number of changes to promote safety on campus.
