ESPN.com reports the deal is worth $4 million.

The 34-year-old Gomes spent last season with the Boston Red Sox and Oakland Athletics. In 112 games, Gomes hit .234 with six home runs and 37 RBIs.

During his 12-year career, Gomes has hit .244 with 155 home runs and 500 RBIs with the Tampa Bay Rays, Cincinnati Reds, Washington Nationals, Athletics, and Red Sox.

Gomes is expected to be in a platoon in left field with Zoilo Almonte. The rest of the outfield will be made up of Nick Markakis and B.J. Upton.

The Braves have remade their outfield this offseason. They traded outfielder Justin Upton to the San Diego Padres and Jason Heyward to the St. Louis Cardinals.
