Temple University identified the student on Friday as Rebecca Kim, 18, a first-year student in the College of Science and Technology enrolled in the pre-pharmacy program, according to ABC News affiliate WPVI-TV.

The incident happened around 6 p.m. on Thursday, as the 18-year-old was visiting two male students who lived on the eighth floor of a building in Center City.

Kim had climbed out onto a ledge from a window, when the two students asked her not to be on the ledge, WPVI-TV reports.

When Kim fell, she struck a 44-year-old woman who was walking on the sidewalk below. The pedestrian was taken to an area hospital with multiple spine and rib fractures.

Authorities do not believe foul play was involved in Kim’s death, according to WPVI-TV.

Temple University released a statement on Friday offering condolences and saying that grief counselors would be on hand for students.
