Garrett, in the final year of his contract, led the Cowboys to the NFC East division title this season with a 12-4 record. They defeated the Detroit Lions, 24-20, in the NFC Wild Card round, but fell to the Green Bay Packers, 26-21, in the NFC Divisional round on Sunday.

Garrett took over for Wade Phillips in Week 10 of the 2010 season. During his tenure in Dallas, he has gone 41-31.

The Cowboys also agreed to a three-year contract with defensive coordinator Rod Marinelli, according to ESPN.
