Report: Rams Owner Seeking to Build Stadium in Los Angeles
Published at(LOS ANGELES) — The St. Louis Rams may soon be returning to the City of Angels.
Stan Kroenke, who last year purchased 60 acres next to the Forum and Hollywood Park, recently joined the owners of Hollywood Park to build an NFL stadium, according to the Los Angeles Times.
Kronke also is “negotiating to purchase” the 300-acre defunct horse racing track that resides on Hollywood Park.
The current owners of the land, Stockbridge Capital Group, already plan to build a mixed-use community that now includes an 80,000-seat stadium.
The lease on the Edward Jones Dome, where the Rams currently play in St. Louis, expires at the end of this season. The team is reportedly negotiating a year-to-year lease with the city.
The Rams previously resided in L.A. from 1946 through 1994.
