Scottish Ebola Patient’s Condition ‘Deteriorating,’ Now Critical

JUSTIN TALLIS/AFP/Getty Images(LONDON) — The Scottish health care worker being treated for Ebola is now in critical condition, the hospital said Saturday.
The Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust announced Saturday that the patient’s condition “has gradually deteriorated over the past two days.” The hospital identified the patient as Pauline Cafferkey, 39.
Cafferkey returned from Sierra Leone to the United Kingdom on Dec. 28, 2014. Three days later, she decided to receive blood plasma treatment and take an experimental anti-viral drug.
