(3) Virginia Bounces Back, Tops (12) UNC
Published at(CHAPEL HILL, N.C.) — Malcolm Brogdon scored 17 points and Justin Anderson added 16 to lead No. 3 Virginia past No. 12 North Carolina 75-64 Monday night.
The Cavaliers (21-1, 8-1 Atlantic Coast Conference) bounced back from their first loss of the season on Saturday versus Duke.
Virginia trailed by one at halftime but held North Carolina (17-6, 7-3 ACC) to 38% shooting in the second half to win their first game in Chapel Hill since 1981.
Brice Johnson had 14 points, eight rebounds, and three blocks for the Tar Heels in the loss.
Next up for Virginia, a home game Saturday versus No. 9 Louisville. Meanwhile, North Carolina will travel to Chestnut Hill Saturday to take on Boston College.
