Lundqvist was struck in the neck by a puck last weekend, and he’ll need some time to get back to full strength.

“We have been conferring with leading medical experts to ensure the best possible care,” the team said in a statement. “Henrik will remain sidelined at least three weeks, until he is re-evaluated and we have completed the process of conferring with the medical experts.”

At 30-15-4, the Rangers are in a tight race over in the Eastern Conference. They find themselves sixth in the Eastern Conference heading into Friday night.

The 32-year-old Lundqvist is having another stellar season for the Rangers this year. He’s 25-11-3 with a 2.25 GAA with a save percentage of .922%.
