Published at(LOUISVILLE, Ky.) — Blazers freshman forward William Lee hit the go-ahead jumper with 26 seconds left as 14th-seeded UAB (20-15) tripped up third-seeded Iowa State (25-9), 60-59, in the second round of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament on Thursday.
Lee finished the game with 14 points and 12 rebounds. Junior guard Robert Brown led the way for UAB with 21 points on 7-of-19 shooting.
Iowa State sophomore guard Monte Morris had a team-high 15 points, while junior forward Jameel McKay had 10 points and pulled down 12 rebounds.
The Blazers outrebounded the Cyclones, 52-37.
