AP Sues State Department to Force Release of Clinton’s Emails
Published at(WASHINGTON) — A day after Hillary Clinton addressed her personal email use, a news organization is taking legal action.
The Associated Press is suing the State Department to force the release of the former secretary of State’s emails.
The AP says repeated requests for the documents under the U.S. Freedom of Information Act have gone ignored for up to five years.
The news comes after Clinton on Tuesday spoke publicly for the first time about her exclusive use of a private email account while she was Secretary of State.
Clinton said she used the personal email because it would have been inconvenient to carry around an additional device for official email.
