Chargers Re-Sign Flowers, Will Sign Orlando Franklin
Published at(SAN DIEGO, Ca. ) — The San Diego Chargers have brought back their top corner Brandon Flowers on a four-year, $36 million contract, according to NFL Networks’ Albert Breer.
Flowers, 29, joined the Chargers after being released by the Kansas City Chiefs last June.
The Chiefs saw Flowers as a poor fit in defensive coordinator Bob Sutton’s man-to-man defense, but the corner flourished in San Diego’s zone coverage scheme.
Additionally, the Chargers have come to terms with free agent guard Orlando Franklin, according to The UT-San Diego.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the deal is for five years, $36.5 million, with $20 guaranteed.
Franklin, 27 was a second-round pick of the Denver Broncos in the 2011 draft. The 6’7,” 320 lb. guard has started 47 games for Denver.
