Richardson was traded to the Colts by the Cleveland Browns a few games into the 2013 season. Since then, the former No. 3 overall pick in the 2012 draft has disappointed.

During his time with Indianapolis, Richardson played in 29 regular season games, rushing for 977 yards on an average of 3.1 yards-per-carry.

Richardson, 23, did nothing for the Colts in their three playoff games last season. After not receiving a carry in the team’s wild card win against the Cincinnati Bengals, he was inactive for the following game against the Denver Broncos and the AFC Championship game against the New England Patriots. It was later found out that Richardson was actually suspended for two games, the first one being the team’s game against the Pats.

The Colts have a slew of running backs on their roster: They signed Frank Gore this week, and have Daniel Herron, Zurlon Tipton, and Vick Ballard returning.
