The stadium would serve as the home for both the Chargers and Raiders, should both teams choose to leave San Diego and Oakland respectively. Both teams are seeking a new venue in their current market and have threatened to move if they do not receive a stadium proposal to their liking.

“We have all been extremely encouraged by the sky-high level of support we have found for the stadium project,” Chargers attorney Mark Fabiani said in a statement regarding the Los Angeles proposal.

The proposal has received over 14,000 petition signatures to place a stadium in Carson. The next step will be to put the ballot up for local election.

Currently the Jets and Giants are only teams in the NFL that share a stadium.
