Family Uses Bus Ads to Find Kidney Donor for Dad

iStock/Thinkstock(RENTON, Wash.) — A family in Renton, Washington, is going all out to find a kidney donor for its patriarch.

With a long waiting list for donors, Emmett Smith’s family has bought ads on local buses to try and find a match.

Their mission has taken on special urgency since Smith’s blood type puts him on the longest wait list for a kidney.

In order to help out, the bus company has placed the ad on 15 additional buses since the Smiths only had enough money to advertise on five.

The ad shows Emmett and their 9-month-old daughter Arianna with the caption “My Daddy needs a kidney.”
