Brewers Place Outfielder Carlos Gomez on the DL

Mike McGinnis/Getty Images(NEW YORK) — The Milwaukee Brewers will have to keep their head above water in the NL Central without one of their best players for at least a couple of weeks. The team announced they’ve place outfielder Carlos Gomez on the disabled list.
Gomez will head to the DL with a slight “defect” or “tear” in his hamstring.
“When you talk about a leadoff guy who can do what he can do, and in center field, it’s concerning,” Brewers manager Ron Roenicke said via Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. “We know offensively we need to get things going and we’re losing a guy who has a chance to do a ton for you.
“When you lose Carlos, you lose a piece that’s got a chance to really get things going,” he said.
For the past couple seasons, Gomez has been a dynamic player for the Brewers. He’s made the All-Star game the past two seasons, and in 2014, Gomez hit .284 with 23 home runs ,73 RBIs, 95 runs scored, and 34 stolen bases.
