On Thursday, Reyes left the team’s game against the Tampa Bay Rays after one at bat with soreness in his ribs. This injury is not a huge surprise, considering Reyes has been dealing with soreness in his left side for several days.

Reyes grounded out in his one at-bat, and after reaching the dugout, he smashed his helmet into the ground before going into the clubhouse.

Ryan Goins took over for Reyes at shortstop.

There has been no update on Reyes’ status for Friday’s game against the Atlanta Braves.

Since 2009, Reyes has missed 267 games due to injury.

In nine games this season, Reyes has hit .333 with five RBIs, one stolen base, and a .359 on-base percentage.
