REXBURG — Rexburg Police Detective Dave Hope told the Standard Journal that with help of Idaho Falls Police, one of the suspects in the theft of two laptops from El-Genes TV and Appliance has been arrested.

Hope said the investigation is still ongoing and little information is available at this time.

Hope said charges are currently pending on the male suspect, and he is being held at the Bonneville County Jail.

He said they still have not been able to find the female suspect in the robbery.

According to the police report, the female subject is described as white, age 18-20, approximately five feet tall, wearing ragged blue jeans and a letterman-type jacket with the word “New York” printed on it and numbers on its sleeve. She also had several bandannas wrapped around her wrist.

The incident occurred on April 2 at 9:10 a.m, according to the Rexburg Police Department.

Lewis said the unidentified female distracted the store employee, and it appears the unidentified male may have stolen the laptops during that time.

Lewis said the male then left the store followed by the female.

“He left the store, and then she immediately took off running,” Lewis said.

After they had left it was discovered that two laptops were missing.

Lewis said approximately $1,800 worth of products was stolen from El-Genes TV and Appliance on Main Street.

Lewis said the suspect disappeared into the alley behind the door before officers were able to respond.

Hope said that if anyone has any information on the female suspect they should contact him through the Rexburg Police Department at 208-359-3008.

The Standard Journal will provide updates as the investigation continues.
