US Airways Software Outage Causes Delays
Published at(NEW YORK) — US Airways experienced a nationwide software outage Saturday, delaying passengers as they tried checking in for their flights.
The outage, which began at 6 a.m. and lasted an hour, has since been resolved, said Casey Norton, the director of communications for American Airlines. The two companies merged in 2013.
The outage affected passengers checking in, as well the airline’s ability to scan baggage and boarding passes, Norton said.
Passengers were recommended to check the status of their flights as the outage caused delays.
