A new television commercial released Wednesday has become one of the top trending videos online as millions are sharing the ad on social media.
Extra gum calls the video “The Story of Sarah & Juan.” The only explanation the company gives is “A girl. A guy. And a stick of gum. See their love story unwrap.”
The video features a teenage couple’s epic romance begin in high school and stretch through trials and tribulations of college life and young adulthood. Haley Reinhart’s cover of Elvis Presley’s “Can’t Help Falling in Love” plays as the story unfolds.
“The minty freshness of Extra is on hand at all times…Wrappers are worked into the storyline [and] the schtick is still pretty sweet,” writes Adweek.com.
