Rigby citizens vote against Sunday liquor sales

  Published at  | Updated at

RIGBY — The majority of voters support a City Council decision to keep a ban on Sunday liquor sales in place.

On Tuesday, Nov. 3, 254 people voted in support of a city ordinance banning Sunday sales, and 132 voted against the ordinance.

In February, the Rigby City Council voted 3-2 against an ordinance that would allow liquor sales on Sunday. Seven months later, Mayor Jason Richardson and the City Council agreed to put the question of Sunday liquor sales on the ballot as an advisory vote.

The council says it will use the outcome of Tuesday’s vote to help set the city’s official policy.
