Dramatic video shows cop being shot point blank in the back

CAPE TOWN, South Africa — A police officer survived a shooting that caught on his dash-cam video.
The disturbing footage, which was released by the city of Cape Town, shows the officer
being shot at point-blank range during a traffic stop
From Officer Nizaam Alexander’s dash cam, you can see the car pulled over, and a man with a baseball cap walking on the left.
When Alexander approaches the car to get the driver’s information, the man with the cap reappears, this time with a gun.
It jams and he walks out of frame.
The man then surprises the officer and shoots him in the back at point-blank range.
Despite the flesh wound, Alexander ducks behind the car and fires three shots but misses.
He races after the man, then calmly walks back to the car and finishes writing the ticket before heading to the hospital.
Alexander was awarded for bravery by the department. The man who ambushed him escaped.
