Rexburg doctor accused of abusing wife appears in court
Published at | Updated atRIVERTON, Wyo. – A Rexburg doctor accused of beating his wife and daughter over Thanksgiving weekend appeared before a judge in a Wyoming courtroom Friday morning.
Michael Larson, 60, is charged with felony restraint, three counts of misdemeanor domestic battery and endangering children.
Larson was arraigned in a hearing that lasted only minutes. A judge read him his charges and set bond at $10,000. Larson paid half of the amount to remain out of jail.
EastIdahoNews.com was first to report on Larson’s arrest. Court documents allege after a night of drinking, Larson dragged his wife outside their Wyoming cabin, threatened her and repeatedly hit and kicked it. Authorities say he also struck a child.
Police were forced to ram a locked gate at the cabin to rescue the wife and children following a call to 911.
Larson is due back in court on Jan. 27 for a preliminary hearing.
