Actor to be keynote speaker at annual Martin Luther King, Jr. banquet

IDAHO FALLS — A critically acclaimed actor will be the keynote speaker at the 10th annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. banquet in Idaho Falls.

Jim Lucas has appeared in several movies and television shows, including Head of State, Ladder 49, The West Wing, The District, “24” and The Wire.

Lucas is known for his stirring and dramatic recitations depicting the life of Reverend King. Lucas travels the country delivering various renditions of Dr. King’s ‘I Have a Dream’ speech.

Lucas will speak at the annual event Friday, Jan. 22 from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at the Shilo Inn. The theme for this years banquet is “A Call to All…Lifting Each Other to Higher Grounds.”

Tickets are $35.00 for adults, $20.00 for students and children 12 and under at $10.00. Dinner is included.
