Lumberjack themed acrobat troupe performing in Idaho Falls

IDAHO FALLS — Crosscut saws, flying axes, and men flipping from wooden branches. The acrobatic lumberjack fusion performance called Timber! is coming to the Colonial Theater Saturday, Feb 6.

The show features Quebec natives Cirque Alfonse — a family of acrobats, along with a troupe of folk musicians. Their act is inspired by exploits of the first North American lumber jacks, loggers and farmers, according to CirqueAlfonse.com.

Timber! combines a musical, comedic performance with death-defying acrobatic stunts using forestry tools.

Amy Carr of the Idaho Falls Arts Council says the performance is an energetic adventure for the whole family.

“A lot of the time you see cirque acts that are more traditional. This one has a different layer to it. There’s a lot more humor, a lot more back and forth on stage, and they also have live musicians on stage.” Carr says.

Carr says the show embraces a woodsy atmosphere and the public can expect a unique acrobatic experience.

“I think they’re going to do some incredible stunts,” Carr said.
