SUGAR CITY — Two men face separate rape charges after allegedly forcing teenage girls to have sex with them.

Court documents obtained by EastIdahoNews.com show that on the evening of Thursday, March 31, a 16-year-old victim and a teenage friend whose age hasn’t been released arrived at Harris Trailer Court on Third South in Sugar City.

The teens met up with 20-year-old Thor Fitzgerald Ware Jr. and 20-year-old Jose Nevarrez-Portillo.

The 16-year-old told police they were all listening to music and at one point Ware and Nevarrez-Portillo started to smoke marijuana out of what appeared to be an apple.

All four later decided to watch a movie in a back bedroom, and court documents state that’s when Ware started making advances on the 16-year-old. She told police that she repeatedly told Ware to stop and when Nevarrez-Portillo and the other teenager left the room, Ware raped her, she said.

Court documents state after the assault, the victim got dressed and tried to leave, but Ware forced her to perform more sexual acts while holding her down.

During the assault, the victim received a call from her mother that was inadvertently answered. The victim’s mother reported to police that she “could hear her daughter saying the word ‘stop.'”

The victim eventually left the trailer by herself and was taken to Madison Memorial Hospital by her mother. Detectives interviewed the girl at the hospital.

Police responded to the trailer and arrested Ware, who was “very belligerent,” according to court documents. He was booked into the Madison County Jail on $200,000 bond.

Court records show that Ware admitted to some sexual acts with the victim but claims they were consensual. Ware told police “he likes to seek out multiple women a day for the purpose of having sex,” according to documents.

Less than a year ago, Ware was arrested in Oregon for charges of kidnapping, sexual abuse and harassment. He was convicted on the harassment charge.

Ware is a resident of Oregon but has been visiting Idaho because his parents kicked him out of their home, according to court documents.

Nevarrez-Portillo in also being held in the Madison County Jail without bond for felony rape and felony sexual penetration with a foreign object charges. It is unclear what happened to Nevarrez-Portillo before he was arrested or if the other teenager was taken to the hospital.

Court records regarding his case were unavailable Monday afternoon, but EastIdahoNews.com will update this story once we obtain the details.

Madison County Capt. Bruce Bowler tells EastIdahoNews.com that this incident involved two separate victims, but both alleged crimes took place near the same time at the same place.
