One man dead after being flung from bed of truck

The following is a news release from the Idaho State Police.

MACKAY — Idaho State Police are investigating a one vehicle fatality crash on Mine Hill Road near Mackay, in Custer County.

The accident occurred at 7:10 p.m. Friday, according to a news release.

Bridget A. Woodbury, 18, of Mackay, was driving a 1966 Chevrolet pickup, eastbound on Mine Hill Road. Woodbury lost control of the vehicle. The pickup went off the roadway, rolled, and came to rest on the passenger side. All occupants were ejected from the vehicle.

Brooke J. Woodbury, 21, of Logan, Utah was the passenger in the cab of the pickup. Austin W. Mortensen, 24, of Washington, Utah and Travis F. Randall, 25, of Ogden, Utah were both passengers riding in the bed of the pickup. The pickup was not equipped with seatbelts.

Travis Randall succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Bridget Woodbury, Brooke Woodbury, and Austin Mortensen were transported by air ambulance to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls.

Idaho State Police were assisted by Custer County Sheriff’s Office, Butte County Sheriff’s Office, Mackay Ambulance, and South Custer County Fire Department.

The crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
